Broncos All-Time Roster: Mark Schlereth tops guards

The Denver Broncos have seen a plethora of talented players since the merger of the American and National Football Leagues in 1970.

While it may be easy for Broncos Country to explain why a particular quarterback or running back is the best of his generation, this list is here to tackle which Broncos players are the best of all time.

Every Fan host was tasked with ranking top Broncos players’ skillsets to come up with the greatest Broncos roster.

This all-time roster will have a few no-brainers on it, but ultimately the Fan hosts decided who was the best of the best.

Here is the Broncos’ all-time roster at guard.

Mark Schlereth

Mark Schlereth was selected by Washington in the 10th round of the 1989 NFL Draft and enjoyed a 12-year professional career as a guard before retiring in 2001.

He spent six seasons with Washington (1989-1994) and six with the Denver Broncos (1995-2000). Schlereth won three Super Bowls (XXVI with Washington; XXXII and XXXIII with the Broncos) and was named to the 1991 and 1998 Pro Bowl.

Throughout his career he underwent 29 surgical procedures, 20 of which were performed on his knees – 15 of those on the left.

Chris Kuper

Chris Kuper was a former Broncos fifth-round pick who played eight seasons at guard.

Kuper started 79 of the 90 games he played in Denver. He was a three-time captain and spent his entire playing career with the Broncos.

The Broncos named Kuper as their assistant offensive line coach in 2019.

Keith Bishop

Keith Bishop was a sixth-round pick for the Denver Broncos in the 1980 NFL Draft.

In the 1986 and 1987 seasons, Bishop was named a 2nd-team All-Pro and was selected to his first and second Pro Bowls.

Bishop played in 129 career games for the Broncos through the 1980s. After his retirement he became the Vice President of Security with the Broncos.
