The Fan awarded for Nuggets and Avalanche content

Six months ago, 104.3 The Fan announced plans to improve their commitment to the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. Those efforts have now been officially recognized.
At their 2021 Awards of Excellence Ceremony, the Colorado Broadcaster’s Association honored The Fan for their Nuggets content in the category of Best Sports Coverage by an Individual or Team. The Fan’s increased Nuggets programming has included a postgame show following every game; adding George Karl and Jay Williams as station exclusive experts; production and distribution of “Mile High Hoops with Zach Bye”; DenverFan.com exclusive Nuggets content including Rachel Vigil’s weekly video program “The Fan’s Fast Break”; and Darren DMac McKee attending every home game and press conference.
In addition, “Mile High Hockey with Mike Evans,” was recognized in the category of Best Radio Podcast. The podcast is produced and distributed weekly with Evans and different guests joining the program to discuss the latest Avalanche news and storylines.
The Fan received additional recognition from the Colorado Broadcasters Association, with Tyler Polumbus receiving an Award of Excellence in the category of Best Regularly Scheduled Entertainment Program for his “Mount Polumbus” segment. Also, “The Fan’s Halftime Chill,” a Facebook Live halftime show of Denver Broncos games featuring features Rachel Vigil, James Merilatt and different guests was recognized in the category of Best Use of Digital/Social Media. Finally, The Fan’s programming following the passing of Demaryius Thomas was awarded in multiple categories: Best News Coverage of a Single Event and Best Sports Feature.
