NFL Network analyst: Omarion Hampton should be Broncos’ pick

Mar 18, 2025, 7:19 PM

Omarion Hampton, the running back from North Carolina, may not be available when the Denver Broncos go on the clock with the No. 20 selection. But if he is, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah believes he should be the selection.

Jeremiah forecasted the Broncos to take Hampton with the No. 20 pick in the latest iteration of his mock draft, which he unveiled on NFL.com on Tuesday.

As he wrote:

Head coach Sean Payton loves running his offense through the tight ends, running backs and slot receivers. The Broncos landed their tight end via free agency in Evan Engram and now they get a back with some big-time juice.

In Jeremiah’s previous mock draft, he had the Broncos selecting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland, with Denver waiting until Day 2 to find a “joker” running back, a rationale he explained during a conference call with media from around the nation.

But in the 3.0 version of his mock draft, Loveland did not fall to the Broncos; he had the Seattle Seahawks selecting the Michigan tight end with the No. 18 pick.

Hampton was one of the running backs with whom the Broncos held formal meetings at the NFL Scouting Combine. Denver met with at least 10 running backs that week.
