Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog has scored 248 regular season goals in his NHL career.
On Saturday night, he got one in the AHL.
Landeskog found the net for the Colorado Eagles in Loveland, helping them tie the game with the Henderson Silver Knights 3-3 and eventually win in a shootout. It was Landeskog’s second game in two nights, once he made his return to competitive hockey after 1,020 days off the ice on Friday night at Blue Arena.

Gabriel Landeskog was battling in front of the cage when he appeared to tip the puck into the back of the goal to get the game all square in the third period. Although he would miss in an eventual shootout, Landeskog and the Eagles beat the Silver Knights for a second contest in a row.
It was the perfect ending to an epic comeback by Colorado’s captain, who played on Friday and woke up feeling good enough to do the same on Saturday. Based on the NHL results over the weekend, the Avalanche are locked into a Round 1 series with the Dallas Stars.
And while neither Gabriel Landeskog or head coach Jared Bednar will say it just yet, at this point, it would be a surprise to see Colorado’s captain not out there for that series.
Let’s hope it happens, because he looks like he’s back. And scoring grinding goals is exactly how Gabriel Landeskog can help the Avalanche capture another Stanley Cup.
