Beyond the Badge – Officer Todd Shupe

Oct 24, 2017, 11:18 AM | Updated: Aug 1, 2024, 8:11 pm

This week, we’re proud to salute Officer Todd Shupe of the Parker Police Department.

Officer Shupe has been serving the residents of Parker for 14 years after four years in the United States Navy. He has an MBA in Leadership and puts it to use in many programs throughout the PD. Officer Shupe is a Bike Patrol Instructor, a Terrorism Liaison Officer and has been named their trainer of the year twice, as well as winning their community outreach award. In addition to being certified as a member of the Critical Incident Team,

Todd is also a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team negotiator. He has successfully negotiated several incidents, including barricaded suicidal gunmen and suicidal war veterans. Todd is highly involved in the department’s Fallen Hero program in which all new officers receive a card with a picture and information about a Colorado law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty. Teaching new patrol officers and preparing them to work the roads solo was an integral part of his duties for seven years as a Police Training Officer.

Todd was awarded a life-saving award in 2015 and received a letter of commendation from the Chief of Police for his role during an officer involved shooting in 2016.

Thank you, Officer Shupe…for your service. And, for going Beyond the Badge.
