New Broncos jersey numbers announced

Some Broncos players will be changing their numbers after NFL owners approved the expansion of jersey numbers at certain positions during the offseason.

The new rule, which was proposed by the Kansas City Chiefs, will allow running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, linebackers and defensive backs to wear a wider variety of numbers, including single digits.
According to lead Broncos writer Aric DiLalla, first-round pick Pat Surtain II will wear No. 2 and KJ Hamler will switch from the No. 13 jersey he wore as a rookie to No. 1. Wide receiver Kendall Hinton will switch to No. 9 and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will sport No. 5.
