At one point on Saturday in Denver the four players who have collected 17% of all the triple-doubles in NBA history were on the floor together, drawing a ton of eyes.
ESPN PR shared on Tuesday that 3.35 million folks tuned in to ABC during the peak of the Denver Nuggets matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a ton of eyes for Luka Doncic and LeBron James first time playing Nikola Jokic together. With the Nuggets now also having Russell Westbrook, the four litter some of the league’s all-time stats.
The game went horribly for the Nuggets, and perhaps even hurt Jokic’s MVP chances since 2.87 million viewers hung around for most of the game. Jokic was already behind in the race, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s odds have increased after the weekend. Denver was blown out 123-100 in the game while JJ Redick displayed a great plan for slowing the three-time MVP. The win was also big for the Lakers, who had lost 13 of their last 14 against the Nuggets, displaying that the trade for Doncic may have shifted how the head-to-head plays out.
Redick said pregame that he liked the gameplan but it was more important for his team to develop some confidence against a Nuggets crew who have sent the Lakers to the offseason the last two years. L.A. has that for now, though they’ll meet the Nuggets two more times, both on national television, next month.
Those games should be highly viewed given Saturday’s contest was the most-watched TV show across all channels that night.

Denver was stopped from a 10-game win streak but bounced right back on Monday to tip off a four-game road trip with the right groove and it came because of another legendary game from Joker.
