Broncos are favorites to get wide receiver who won Offensive Player of the Year

The world knows that the Denver Broncos want to add a ‘wide receiver of note’ this offseason, and the bookmakers in Las Vegas think that man will be Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp.
The 31-year-old pass catcher was informed last month that the Rams seek to trade him this offseason. Kupp’s contract is playing a large part in all of this because he’s due $20 million in 2025 and $19.85 million in 2026. All the while, Los Angeles has another top target in the younger Puka Nacua.
Kupp was the 2021 Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year and won the Super Bowl LVI MVP a few months later as Los Angeles captured a title. Last season, he caught 67 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. It was the third straight season that Kupp was limited because of injuries. Still, the veteran totaled over 700 receiving yards and at least five TD catches in each of the past three seasons. Kupp’s last full season was in 2021 when he won the NFL’s receiving triple crown en route to a ring.
The Broncos badly need more punch on offense, despite turning things around over the past few years. The team has gone from 32nd to 20th to 10th in total points over the past three seasons, though the Broncos have lacked a game-breaking wide receiver since Demaryius Thomas’ career slowed down. In the last five seasons, Courtland Sutton has gotten 700 yards four times, Jerry Jeudy thrice and Tim Patrick twice. The 29-year-old Sutton is the only man still left in Denver and is entering a contract year after a standout season. But it’s clear he could use a partner like Kupp on the outside to raise Bo Nix’s level even higher.
Broncos odds to get Cooper Kupp
Denver Broncos: +300
Detroit Lions: +550
New England Patriots: +650
Kansas City Chiefs: +750
Los Angeles Chargers: +850
Washington Commanders: +950
Pittsburgh Steelers: +1000
Dallas Cowboys: +1000
The Broncos are the favorites to get Kupp per DraftKings, though three of the five-highest odds teams are in the AFC West, with the Chiefs and Chargers also having a good shot to land the superstar per the book. If Kupp doesn’t end up with the Broncos, the NFL Draft is an option for the team to find a target. This year’s class doesn’t have too many standout wide receivers, so the Broncos might turn to the market where there are a ton of other veterans with great resumes. Among those worth mentioning are Chris Godwin, Davante Adams, Tyler Lockett, Christian Kirk, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, Darius Slayton and Amari Cooper.
Les Snead said the Rams are looking to find a trade partner for Cooper Kupp and while he didn’t rule out the receiver staying, he said that’s the “least likely” option. Sean McVay said on Monday that the Rams had not had conversations with Kupp about restructuring his deal.
