CU Football to have a plethora of athletes at Big 12 Pro Day

Mar 13, 2025, 11:56 AM

The Big 12 Conference announced Thursday that the second annual Big 12 Pro Day will be held from March 18-21 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. The event will feature over 200 Big 12 football players, including 13 from the University of Colorado, highlighted by Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.

Alongside Hunter and Sanders, the other Buffs competing at the event are: B.J. Green, Justin Mayers, Chidozie Nwankwo, Jimmy Horn Jr., Travis Jay, Shilo Sanders, Will Sheppard, Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, Herman Smith III, LaJohntay Wester and Mark Vassett.

There will be almost 300 NFL scouts and other personnel at the Ford Center, better known as the Dallas Cowboys practice facility, to watch the best athletes in the Big 12 compete before the 2025 NFL Draft. This opportunity will be very important for athletes who did not get an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine such as Shilo Sanders and Silmon-Craig.

This might not be the last chance these CU athletes have to showcase their skills before the Draft, as the university is rumored to be having a “showcase” on campus sometime before the Draft, its own version of a pro day.

The conference didn’t announce exactly what drills/events would be taking place, but it should look fairly similar to the Combine. Workouts on Wednesday will feature offensive and defensive linemen and linebackers, while Thursday will showcase running backs, tight ends, quarterbacks and defensive backs.

To watch these CU athletes compete, the event will be broadcast on NFL Network from 11:00 a.m. MT to 2:00 p.m. MT on both March 19 and 20.
