Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog continues to take big strides on the ice.
The Avs returned to practice at Family Sports Center on Monday, and Landeskog skated with the team for a fourth straight outing.
Once again, he looked pretty good out there and even scored a goal during a drill and celebrated with a fist pump. Here are a couple videos of the action that are catching people’s attention.

Landeskog accompanied the Avalanche on their recent road trip through Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and was on the ice for morning skates. Head coach Jared Bednar had shared last week that was the plan, and it doesn’t look like the Colorado captain had any setbacks.
Gabriel Landeskog hasn’t played in a game for the Avalanche since the team won the Stanley Cup in the summer of 2022. He had cartilage replacement surgery on his knee in 2023 and has been battling to get back into the action ever since.
Landeskog recently said a lot of guys in his shoes would’ve retired by now, but the Colorado captain still desperately wants to be out there with his team. His recovery is being shown in a new docuseries, and a perfect ending would be Landeskog joining the Avs for the playoffs.
After practice on Monday, Bednar spoke for eight minutes, but didn’t get any questions on Landeskog. For now, nothing is imminent, but again things appear to be trending in the right direction.
The Avs are back at Ball Arena this week, playing four straight home games against Detroit, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Calgary. After that, Colorado will have only seven games remaining in the regular season. They’re currently three points back of Dallas for second in the Central Division, while four points ahead of Minnesota for a wild card spot.
And when the postseason begins on April 19 or 20, will Gabriel Landeskog be out there? That’s the million dollar question, one that feels like the answer is trending more and more toward yes.
