Broncos training camp won’t be the same this year — but their goal is to have fans

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Broncos training camp won’t look the same this summer.
The hillside on which thousands of fans sat for all but one year of the last 10 is gone, leveled to make way for the building that will house the Broncos beginning in 2026. Now called Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit, the tract of land that the team has called home is under the same sort of construction that the roster was over the two previous offseasons.
But despite the dust, the hard hats and the construction cranes, the goal is to keep Broncos training camp at home.
“We’re coming up with a good plan and want to be in our facility for training camp, given it’s a great place,” Broncos CEO and controlling owner Greg Penner said. “Teams actually like coming to us for the joint practices.”
BRONCOS TRAINING CAMP SHOULD HAVE FANS
And furthermore, the larger matter for their fans is that Penner wants them there — and every effort is being made to have them on hand despite the ongoing construction.
But there wouldn’t be as many as there were last summer — and certainly not as many as there were before capacity was restricted for the last two camps.
“It’s not going to be perfect this year,” Penner acknowledged.
“We’ll probably come up with something where we could accommodate 800 to 900 fans in some temporary bleachers, but we’ll have it open. We’ll have a number of practices that are open to fans and we’ll accommodate them and really want to make that happen.”
The club planned to start construction of its new building before Broncos training camp last summer, but held off in an attempt to minimize disruption to one camp. That remains the goal, with the expected completion of the new building in the 2026 offseason, which would allow fans to watch that year’s camp on-site.
“Again, the intent is for this to only be one training camp where it really affects us,” Penner said.
Time will tell whether that happens, but that’s what the club intends.
This year’s Broncos training camp is scheduled to be the 23rd consecutive training camp held at the team’s facility, which became the club’s everyday home in 1990. The team has hosted fans at its facility every year since then with the exception of the pandemic-altered 2020 campaign.
