Travis Hunter had one of the greatest individual seasons in the history of college football in 2024, winning a multitude of awards including the Heisman Trophy and the Biletnikoff award. The nation’s top receiver would not have won the award without his quarterback and right-hand man, Shedeur Sanders, throwing him the football.

In 2024, Shedeur Sanders threw for 4,134 yards (1,258 to Hunter) and 37 touchdowns (15 to Hunter). The Colorado signal caller is poised to be one of the top picks of the 2025 NFL Draft as there are a handful of teams at the top in need of a quarterback. While Sanders might have troubles with arm strength from time to time, he is one of the most accurate passers in the history of the sport, and showed his greatness over two years with the Buffaloes.

Sanders also completed 74% of his pass attempts in 2024, the sixth highest percentage of all time.

When speaking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine Thursday, Hunter had high praise for his quarterback.

“His accuracy and his love for the game [make his game so special],” Hunter said.

Hunter didn’t stop there with the praise for his quarterback, and also claimed that Sanders is “the best quarterback in this draft.”

While it would be a dream scenario for Deion Sanders for Hunter and Shedeur Sanders to play together in the NFL, the possibility of that is very unlikely within the next five years. Both Colorado stars are projected to be a top five pick come April, with Hunter possibly slated to be the No. 1 overall pick, and will put their athletic skillsets on display with each other one final time when they participate in drills at Colorado’s pro day, which should take place sometime in the middle of March.
